RAPID HARDWARE REALIZATION
Black Dog Solutions supports the design, prototyping, fabrication, assembly, wiring, integration, and checkout of custom cables, interface test adapters, test fixtures, panels, harnesses, and supporting hardware. These products connect units under test, instruments, automated test systems, laboratory equipment, production stations, and field-support systems.
BDS combines electrical, mechanical, test, drafting, and integration experience to produce hardware that is practical to use, maintainable, documented, and traceable to the engineering requirement. Support can begin with an existing drawing package, a legacy assembly, a set of interface requirements, or an engineering concept that needs to be converted into a working prototype.
PROTOTYPING AND ASSEMBLY AREAS

QUALITY AND VERIFICATION
BDS applies inspection and checkout appropriate to the assembly, its intended use, the available requirements, and the consequences of an incorrect connection or failed interface.
Confirm pin assignments, signal types, voltage and current levels, connector orientation, materials, labels, dimensions, interfaces, and acceptance criteria.
Inspect contacts, crimps, solder joints, terminations, insulation, shielding, strain relief, routing, fastening, labeling, and mechanical assembly.
Verify required connections, open circuits, shorts, cross-wires, unintended paths, shielding, grounding, and isolation between circuits.
Confirm polarity, voltage paths, current capacity, fusing, protection devices, grounding, and safe connection before energizing equipment.
Evaluate connector access, keying, insertion, retention, clearance, mounting, serviceability, cable routing, and interaction with the unit under test.
Verify representative signal paths, attenuation, gain, shielding, grounding, switching, communication, instrumentation, and interface behavior.
Exercise the completed assembly with the intended equipment, test software, instruments, loads, simulators, or units under test.
Record configuration, inspections, measurements, discrepancies, corrections, test results, approvals, and released technical data.
ENGINEERING APPROACH
